LookBooker, an online beauty booking site in NYC, has announced the appointment of two co-partners, Eden and Elan Sassoon, the family of the late, hair industry icon Vidal Sassoon.

LookBooker launched in December 2014 by Giorgia Rossi and Renee Robbie, two former McKinsey & Co. analysts.

“Bringing the Sassoons onboard presents an exciting opportunity to tap into generations of industry isight, as well as gain access to top salon partners across the country,” said Giorgia Rossi, LookBooker co-founder. “With the Sassoons in support of our mission, we operate by Vidal’s personal benchmark: ‘The essence is, what can we do next? And will it be good?'”

How Lookbooker Works

The online platform allows consumers to search for, discover and instantly book hair, beauty and wellness appointments. The site also provides a robust B2B back-end system for salons to implement and then utilize sales-supporting analytics.

“LookBooker presents a unique option in a marketplace that has relied heavily on discount sites to introduce new clients to salons. Often those consumers are not repeat customers – something that has plagued an industry hesitant to rely on the Internet for new business,” said Elan Sassoon. “LookBooker, as a solution, immediately resonated with us. The B2C and B2B benefits are unparalleled, and we are thrilled to be a part of evolving this brand nationally and internationally.”

LookBooker has a number of developments on the horizon. In addition to their multi-city US expansion, their mobile app will launch in September 2015. It will feature a variety of user-friendly elements, including: one-click check out; one-click rebook; geo location services, and salon comparison functionality by products carried, ambience, price, opening times, location and reviews.

More About Elan and Eden

In June 2015, the brother-and-sister duo announced that they have partnered to launch the site, Salon Matchmakers, which was  developed by entrepreneurs Michelle Leffler, COO, Erin Short, director of program development, and Richard Herbert, CFO. The website helps salon and spa owners in the U.S. to find the best job applicants, while helping beauty professionals find a job. Job seekers have the ability to upload videos to showcase their styling skills.

Elan and Eden Sassoon’s famous dad is the late Vidal Sassoon. Both own other businesses – Elan Sassoon launched the product line Sojourn in 2011, and Eden runs the salon Eden by Eden Sassoon in West Hollywood, California.
